A Personalized Healing Diet
Just for You

Throw Out "One Size Fits All" Diets

Are you looking for a healing diet that's tailored for you? Fed up with "one size fits all" fad diets?

Our bodies are unique with unique strengths and weaknesses. So, doesn't it make sense that we each need to pay more attention to our unique individual needs?

Fad diets are popular because so many people are seeking the right answer for themselves. Unfortunatley, a lot of people get lured in by mainstream advertising. "Maybe THIS is the answer for me." Is there anyone who hasn't had that thought?

Health Basics You Need to Know

I do believe there are common basic truths that are good for all of us when it comes to health. For instance, we all need mineral and vitamin rich food, fresh living water, clean non-polluted air and environment, quality sleep, adequate sunshine, physical movement, and love and quality interaction from people.

To address the first part of that statement, we'll look at mineral and vitamin rich food. Life giving food does not include refined processed foods. They maybe hard to resist at times, but depleted refined foods are just a burden on our bodies. I won't go into long details about why that is true, because I think most people instinctively know it, even if they haven't researched it.

In addition, most everyone will aknowledge that fruits and vegetables are good for us. There are big, big debates about if animal products are good for us. There is also a growing debate as to whether grains are good for us.

It does all get rather confusing doesn't it? So, how can we figure out what healing diet is best for us?

First and foremost realize that eating as close to nature as possible is the best way to eat. If you can have a garden, that's the utmost best. If not, try for locally grown produce from a farmers market.

Buying organic when you can is also very important. Eating chemicals does not have any health benefits. However, buying bad quality, organic produce is not going to benefit your health either. It's not a perfect system, so shop the best you can.

If you eat animal products, I advise the same. Buy locally if you can. Generally, by just asking around you can find people who offer what you are looking for. Range fed animals and non-pasturized and non-homogenized dairy products are healthier options. Just remember the less processed and the closer to its original form and source the better.

In addition to that, realize that the more you cook or denature the plant food you want to eat, the less life giving properties it is going to have. Heating plant food above 115-117 degrees destroys the enzymes and breaks down the nutrients.

Getting Intune to Find Your Personalized Healing Diet

So, now that we are staying away from as much processed food as possible, what natural foods create a healing diet?

As a general rule of thumb, fruits are body cleansers and greens are body builders.

In addition to that, I personally believe in working to become more intune with our bodies...feeling how the foods we eat affect us.

It amazes me how people will continue to eat the foods that give them heartburn. Somehow there is the misconception that the body is faulty and not the food. If you are feeling ill after eating, take note. There is a BIG red flag trying to tell you that what you've just eaten is hurting you.

Two ways of tuning into the proper healing diet are muscle testing and intuition. Intuitive eating may take a little time if you aren't use to listening to your body. So then, muscle testing becomes a great tool for helping answer our questions about certain foods.

Muscle testing is an easy tool to learn. A weak muscle response lets you know that a particular food is not what your body needs, and a strong response lets you know that your body does well with that particular food and you should add it to your healing diet.

Not sure if you should eat meat? Muscle test it.

Another option is to do an elimination diet. Take the food that you are questioning out of your diet for 2-3 weeks and record how your body does. Do you feel better or worse? Add the food back in and see how you do. Again, do you feel better or worse?

Sometimes it might take a few times of doing this to learn your body's response and to also rule out other outside influences. Over time, you start to get more intuitive about what you should and should not be eating.

With these basics of eating closer to nature, intuitive eating, elimination dieting and muscle testing foods, you can begin to create a personalized healing diet that's catered to your individual needs.
