Herbs that Lower Blood Pressure

List of Herbs that Lower Blood Pressure

Several factors contribute to high blood pressure. These include smoking, stress, excess body weight, diet, excess use of stimulants, certain medications, over consumption of refined white salt (Sea salts and Himalayan salts have 82 plus essential minerals and trace minerals and affect the body differently by feeding the body minerals versus refined white salt which pulls minerals from the body resulting in high blood pressure.) and mineral and vitamin deficiency, especially being low in magnesium.

High Blood Pressure Tea

1 quart boiling water

1 teaspoon each hawthorn berries and flowers, ginger rhizome, valerian root and motherwort leaves

Pour boiling water over the herbs and steep for 20 minutes. Strain herbs. Drink at least 2 cups a day. You can also make these herbs into a tincture using the same proportions, or you can look for commercial tinctures with similar herbs in them.

Other Natural Remedies that Help Lower Blood Pressure

Diet and Exercise

  • Eat a high fiber diet

  • Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables such as apples, bananas, broccoli, cabbage, garlic, grapefruit, green leafy vegetables, peas, prunes, squash, asparagus and eggplant.

  • Include enzyme-rich juices made fresh. Beets, carrots, celery, currants, cranberries, citrus, parsely, spinach and watermelon make great juices that are good for the heart and circulatory system.

  • Brown rice, buckwheat, millet and oats are a good source of fiber and minerals.

  • Flax seed oil daily is a good source of essential fatty acids.

  • White fish, turkey and chicken are good sources of protein. Minimize consumption of red meats. Grass-fed or venison are healthier options than conventional corn-fed beef.

  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine and tobacco.

  • Lose excess weight.

  • Moderate exercise is beneficial.

  • Get adequate amounts of sleep so you feel rested and relaxed.

  • Avoid artificial sweeteners like aspartame such as Equal or NutraSweet.
