Sustainable Living Information... Are You a Tentant or a Steward?
Over the past 8 years, I've become interested in sustainable living information, because it's increasingly important to me to live as naturally as I can.
Sustainable living incorporates all facets of our lives...what we live in, how we grow, harvest and hunt our food, how we communicate, how we travel and basically all the things we do in our daily lives. The key parts of sustainability are "Why should we?" and "How should we?"
My natural health journey has taught me just how damaging our fast paced, technology crazed lives really are for us. Slowly, my family has started trying to avoid certain modern conveniences for the sake of our health.
The first thing to go was our microwave. The damage it does to our food and the negative energy pollution it creates is something we decided wasn't in line with the healthy bodies and home we desired.
I have also learned about electromagnetic frequency pollution (emf) which society is being bombarded with on a massive scale. The massive onslaught of emf we encounter everyday from all our technology machines, gadgets, appliances and vehicles is interferring with our bodies natural rhythms. This energy pollution, called DOR by some, is also hindering our bodies ability to feel and be in harmony with the natural rhythms of the earth. This is only one example of "why" we might seek sustainable living.
My own personal struggles with health and my persistant effort to be a strong and vibrant person have drawn me closer to understanding the truth of my spirit. In uncovering my spirit and learning to nurture and express myself, I've found that I can't ignore the nature around me. The earth grounds me, it feeds me, it protects me, it challenges me and it requires attention from me.
If we ignore the earth and all it's intricacies, we are ignoring ourselves.
So...I value sustainable living information very much. I see it as a way back to learning what a large majority of society has forgotten, that we are connected to and in partnership with this planet not just tenants.
The following resources are very helpful and educational in answering "why" and "how" we can live sustainably.
